Six days through western Uganda’s primate forests and savanna parks: Semuliki’s male and female hot springs and lowland jungle, Queen Elizabeth’s Kazinga Channel and Ishasha tree-climbing lions, Bwindi’s mountain gorillas (home to more than half the world’s remaining population), Batwa heritage, and compact Lake Mburo with zebras, antelope, and guided walks—linked by scenic drives past the Rwenzori Mountains and the equator.

Day by day
Your guide picks you up in Kampala or Entebbe for a scenic 5–6 hour drive through savanna and forest landscapes to Fort Portal, lunch in town, then an afternoon nature walk at Semuliki National Park to view the famous male and female hot springs before check-in and overnight.
Checkout and crater-lake drive toward Queen Elizabeth National Park (3–4 hours) with Rwenzori and Kasese views and the Nyambwamba glacial river, hot lunch at Mweya peninsula, then an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise for elephants, hippos, and aquatic birds; optional short evening game drive before overnight at Enganzi Safari Lodge.
A dawn game drive in Queen Elizabeth for early grazers and predators, then a scenic drive through Ishasha (tree-climbing lions, topi, elephant, buffalo, Gweshama fish landing sites) and Maramagambo Forest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to rest before tomorrow’s gorilla trek.
Early briefing and mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi (packed lunch; rain gear recommended)—up to one hour with a gorilla family in forest hosting more than half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas—then rest at the lodge and an afternoon Batwa community experience on how forest life changed after the park was gazetted in 1991.
Breakfast and a 4–5 hour drive past Kanungu’s terraced hills and through Mbarara for lunch, reaching Lake Mburo National Park for an evening game drive among zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, leopard, hippo, and prolific birds before overnight at Rwakobo Rock Resort.
A guided morning nature walk in Lake Mburo (open to walkers with a ranger—close encounters with zebra and other species without lions), lunch and optional pool time, then drive back to Kampala via the Ankole–Masaka corridor with equator stop and scenic photo breaks for evening drop-off.
